Western Riding & Charrería Program

Discover the rich traditions of horsemanship through our Western and Mexican Riding Program at Wild Kid Acres. Two-hour long sessions designed for riders ages 5 and up. 

Riders learn the fundamentals of ranch-style riding, including horse handling, arena skills, trail riding, and age-appropriate roping instruction. Through hands-on experiences, participants gain an understanding of how horses have been used in ranch work and livestock management while building a strong partnership with their horse.

Our program emphasizes safety, respect for animals, and the rich cultural heritage of Western and Mexican riding traditions. Whether your child is stepping into the saddle for the first time or looking to expand their horsemanship skills, they'll enjoy an authentic ranch experience in a supportive environment.

As students progress through our program, there will be opportunities for shows, rodeos, and exhibitions. 

Required Attire: For the safety of all participants, riders must wear long pants and closed-toe boots with a heel. Riders who arrive without proper footwear or attire may not be permitted to ride. If you do not have a helmet, Wild Kid Acres will provide one.
